Today's Camp Gitchigomee Reunion reminded me that Google seems to find references in blogs very quickly. Someone googling Camp Gitchigomee will probably find this reference on the first page and can click on the link in the sentence above for more info.
I'm hoping that someone googling Thunder Bay Camp or Thunder Bay Christian Camp or Thunder Bay Church Camp or Thunder Bay children's camp or (even) Thunder Bay Bible Camp will also find this page and link and check out the possibilities there.
Of course, if they are looking for the camp by name they need to spell it properly, not Camp Gitchigumee, Gitchigoomy, Gitchigoomie, Gitchigumie, Gitcheegumee, Gitcheegoomee, Gitcheegumie, Gitcheegoomee. Okay, maybe now they won't need to (but I guess I haven't covered all the possibilities).
(One point in the info page that you may appreciate is that tuck is included in the registration fee. So is a bus ride to Thunder Bay at the end of the week, cutting down on the driving that parents etc. need to do.)
The reunion was a bit of a weird experience for me, that is, I could just sit in the background, strum on my guitar, look at pictures or the video slide show or chat with people if I wanted (or not if I didn't want to). I was called on -- on a whim, I think -- to lead a song with my guitar. I resisted the Hippo Song (introduced to Dorion Bible Camp by Malcolm McMillan) and chose Jump Shout and Sing instead (learned at our church's VBS).
Hey now this will show up if you google Hippo Song.
